Outstanding Weekend!

Good Monday morning!

I didn't sleep great last night, but hoping you all did at least!

Man, had one of the best weekends in a hot minute! I'm sure to some (many) of you it will seem uber lame, but for me it was great. Got to be busy, but at a leisurely pace. Just one of those all around, good weekends ya know?

Right now I'm being lazy and just taking a few minutes with my cuppa tea to sit here and catch up on a few things before the crazy week starts.  I really believe every day needs a few minutes of just being in the morning.

So we got the nieces on Friday....whirlwind all the way until we took them home. And ended up staying for a bit at their parent's St. Patrick's Day party.

Took the girls hiking up the mountain behind us. We were out there for about 3 hours...not too shabby for little girls who have never done serious hiking before!

This was such good cardio and lower body toning for me, with all the climbing and pushing up the mountains!

And this wasn't super easy terrain either!

We did cupcakes, (the girls just painted their faces with frosting), had a scavenger hunt for the "gold" that the leprechaun had left them, played wii all night,  made bacon and eggs the next morning, homemade fried chicken for lunch, and doing chalk coloring on the driveway.  They slept the whole way home ;)

The next day the boyfriend and I had plans to paint the furniture and hike the mountain again, but plans changed last minute and it ended up being a shopping day. Got him a bunch of tools at Harbor Freight (such a happy boy!) and did a HUGE haul for Mr. Broden. I'll do another post on that later. Came home, raked the front lawn and made breakfast for dinner, gluten free pancakes (link to recipe HERE) with bacon and eggs. Ended the night with Family Guy and mutual, much needed foot rubs!

So let me know, how was your weekend? If it wasn't awesome, what can you do to make your next one be that way?
